Citrus of any type is such a wonderful and versatile flavor in the drink world, and is at its peak season in the winter months. Ruby red grapefruit in particular is at its peak in February which makes it a good time to use the fruit in this recipe. Fresh squeezed grapefruit juice is ideal in this recipe, but there are a number of high quality, 100% Ruby red grapefruit juices on the market to choose from which make this drink easy to make year round.
This version is a little more tart to the taste buds, since I do not like things too sweet, but you can certainly increase the syrup in this recipe to sweeten it to your liking. Here it is:
1 oz. Morris Kitchen Grapefruit Honey Mixer
1 oz. gin
1 oz. fresh squeezed Ruby red grapefruit juice
3 oz. seltzer water
Grapefruit wedge to garnish
Combine mixer, gin and grapefruit juice in a shaker with ice and shake. Drain contents into rocks glasses over ice. Garnish with grapefruit wedge. Enjoy!
