Recently I had a bottle of St. Germaine elderflower liquer that I needed to use up and was experimenting with grapefruit drinks. I had some beautiful grapefruit I wanted to use the juice of and some Grapefruit Honey mixer, so a drink was born! The result was spot on! The St. Germaine paired really well with the tart, bitterness of the grapefruit juice and the honey in the mixer added just the right amount of sweet to make it very palatable. So here is the recipe for you to enjoy.
St. Germaine Sunset Cocktail
1 oz. Grapefruit Honey mixer
1/2 oz St. Germaine elderflower liquer
1/2 oz fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
1 1/2 oz Tanqueray gin
Add all ingredients to shaker with ice, shake for 20 seconds or so. Pour in to a chilled rocks glass and garnish with a small wedge of grapefruit. Cheers!
Next time you're hosting a dinner party or simply want to treat yourself to a special drink, give this gin cocktail with grapefruit and elderflower liqueur a try. Your taste buds will thank you!
