This recipe was inspired by Portland Syrups version called "Ginger Turmeric Golden Milk" which is delicious, but one afternoon when it was rainy and cold I wanted to make it and didn't have all the ingredients, so I came up with my own version which turned out pretty darn good! Even my picky 15 year old liked it! It goes like this:
1 c unsweetened coconut milk
1 c unsweetened vanilla almond milk
2 oz Portland syrups ginger syrup
1 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Pinch each of black pepper and cardamom
Agave syrup (or sweetener of your choice) to taste
Mix all ingredients except agave syrup into saucepan and whisk together. Use medium heat and let flavors cook together for about 10 minutes, being careful not to boil. Pour into your favorite tea cup and sweeten to taste. Makes about 2 servings so you can share!
