Mango Habanero Paloma courtesy Portland Syrups

I had a bunch of Mango Habanero syrup leftover from one of my markets I had to use up so I decided to try one of the recipes by Portland Syrups called a Mango Habanero Paloma. Typically a Paloma uses grapefruit soda to top off the other ingredients (lime juice & tequila), but this recipe uses regular soda water and the syrup to add sweet heat that hits the spot. Personally I reduced the original amount of syrup in the recipe to suit my taste by 1/2 oz. So you can alter a little bit to your personal preference. Enjoy this delightful drink by Portland Syrups.

Mango Habanero Paloma

1.5 oz. Mango Habanero syrup

1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice

1.5 oz. blanco tequila (100% agave)

1 oz. soda water

Sea salt to rim glass and lime wedge for garnish

Rim a short glass with lime then dip it into a plate of coarse sea salt until the rim is coated evenly. Drop one large ice cube into the glass, then add the tequila, lime juice and syrup. Stir to combine, top with a splash of soda water, then garnish with a lime wheel.
